Spreewald

The Spreewald is a Region about 120km in the south-east direction from Berlin. After the last ice age, the river Spree divided into many small runs over a length of approx. 50km. The land is marshy but fertile. The people who settled here many hundreds of years ago developed a culture of which they are very proud. Agriculture, hard work, but also good food and their own language are still important.
